You’ll see no tears while playing this exciting word game!
There are more than 50 beginning High Frequency words, 10 color words (choose color or black & white), number words zero to ten, and 10 ‘Boo-hoo Who?’ cards, plus numerals 0-24 and blank cards to add more words. Simply reproduce desired pages on heavy paper, laminate if possible, and cut apart on the dotted lines. Mix the cards and make a stack. Children take turns drawing a card. If they read the word correctly, they keep the card. If they don’t know the word, it is placed back in the middle of the stack of cards. Draw a “Boo-hoo” card and
lose a turn. The player with the most sight word cards at the
end of the stack is declared the winner!
Alternatively, reproduce to use as flash cards or send home a set with a student who needs a bit more practice with beginning sight words!
