Ready for a variety of themes to help young learners with the concept of comparing objects by size? This set provides an opportunity for your students to practice cutting and coloring while working on developing the ability to distinguish objects by size.. I’ve included two master worksheets. One for ordering objects from BIG to SMALL; and the other from SMALL to BIG. There are 12 sets of objects that can be combined in a variety of ways. You can use them as they are printed on the page or cut apart and use different sets together. You can also place several pictures that do NOT belong together and have students SORT, then place in order.
After the concept has been introduced, these sheets can be placed in a center for independent work.
Objective: To reinforce concept of comparing objects
Key Terms to help support learners include:
match, compare, length, bigger, smaller, longer, shorter, height, taller,
Sets are: school supplies. (pencil, paper, playdough, glue), acorns, leaves, pumpkins, apples, fireman, firetruck, superhero girl, & super hero boy.
If you’re looking for a connection to the Common Core State Standards I’ve added it to the master worksheets for easy reference as you plan your lessons.
I hope your kiddos have fun with these as they begin to master comparative language and fine motor skills.
