Making Words is a great activity to work on phoneme isolation, segmenting sounds, and blending sounds to make words. This packet includes vowel teams (ai, ay, ee, ea, oa, ow (as long o), ou, ow, oi, oy, and oo. ). You will find fifteen different making word directions which include their own recording sheets. All making words lessons have an activity for each sound. There are some lessons that the sound is being taught with both patterns.
*The letters underlined are to show the correct position. The line goes under the letter.
Suggestions for use:
*Small group (great way to quick check your students when working on vowel sounds)
*Whole group (when doing whole group, project this to a board and students will LOVE going to the board to write the word)
*Sub plans (already ready to go for you with directions. These lessons take about 20-30 minutes)
*Classroom Aide (great tool for reviewing one-on-one with students)
I have taught for 14 FABULOUS years. I've taught 1st, 2nd, and 4th. I am currently in first and that is where I find I am the happiest! I like creating my own workstations/centers for my students. I can vary my instruction to suit their needs this way! :)
