These are letter tiles that an be used to build spelling words, sight words, or vocabulary words. Print on cardstock and laminate and keep sorted for yourself. Each week pull the tiles to spell your weekly words and place them in small containers, plastic Easter eggs would work great. Students empty one egg at a time and unscramble their word of the week and record it on their recording sheet. You could also do short vowel theme, or long vowel theme, words with blends or digraphs...whatever spelling patterns you are working on!
I named it race to spell because I found these awesome race car eggs at the dollar store! Now it is a yearlong working on word activity I can use during daily 5 or small reading groups.
I am using a craft box with 32 sections to keep my alphabet organized, making it super easy to switch the words each week rather than have to store 220 + eggs filled with letters :o)
