This is a unit I developed to go along with the book Gooney Bird Greene by Lois Lowery. As students read the book, they write down various writing tips that Gooney Bird gives as she tells stories to her class. In addition students discuss the various character traits that Gooney Bird exhibits and demonstrate their comprehension of the story by completing a comprehension packet. There are also pages of vocabulary words that can be printed and laminated and used on a word wall.
Items in this file include:
* Writing Tips worksheet
* Character traits worksheet
* Comprehension question packet
* Vocabulary words
* blank vocabulary page to create additional vocabulary cards
Sometimes a teacher just needs a little pick me up to get through the day and that's when the teacher's candy drawer in her desk gets opened and the her private stash of chocolates gets invaded. The Candy Drawer is a shop for anyone looking for units, worksheets, and activities to help get a teacher through the day or week to help with planning.
