At the beginning of the school year, I like to start with a color unit. It is a good review for my beginning first graders, plus there are just so many fun activities to do with each color! This set of lesson plans takes about 2 school weeks to complete. In this packet you will find:
*pages 3-5: a sign-up sheet for the daily snacks that go along with each color. It can get quite expensive, so I have parents sign up for different snacks at our Back to School night. I have also included a parent reminder sheet to remind parents when to send snacks. Plus, I have listed some ideas for snacks.
*page 6: a schedule to send to parents to remind students to wear the color of the day
*pages 7-26: 20 daily color word posters (10 in English and 10 in Spanish)
*pages 27-37: a colorful class book (Simply print, laminate, and bind together, then place it in the classroom library for students to enjoy.)
*pages 38-39: A class book cover for a book about colors and a student page.
*pages 40-146: Daily Color activities: I have included a daily color writing page, story ideas and activities and printables that go along with each daily color. I have included several math, literacy, science and art activities to go with each color. I hope you enjoy the activities in this packet with your students.
