This download includes:

-  8 CVC picture cards for each vowel a & o

-  Letter tiles

-  Word building boxes

-  Heart worksheet for students to write the letters to spell the CVC words in the pictures

-  Box worksheet for students to write the letters to spell the CVC words in the pictures

Suggested use:

-  Decide what vowel you will be working on with your students.

-  Place those picture cards inside numbered plastic box. (I am doing this activity around Valentine’s Day, therefore I used plastic hearts and included the heart worksheet, however this activity can be done with any type of plastic box or basket using the worksheet with the boxes.)

-  Give each student a set of letter tiles, word building boxes., and a worksheet.

-  Students will select a box and open it.  They will build the word with their letter tiles in the word building boxes, and then write the word in the corresponding box on the worksheet.
