Text recall and retell are great ways to reinforce and monitor comprehension!
Students can use this "Stop... Think... Share..." type of strategy to support their understanding and collaborate to create meaning for both fiction and non-fiction texts.
Students can use sentence starters such as "I remember...", "I read...", and "I learned..." to record their understanding on these THINKMARKS!
**Note: Teachers can put these sentence starters on craft sticks or chart paper to scaffold independence with this strategy!
Adapted from Linda Hoyt's "I Remember..." strategy.

Looking for fresh, innovative ideas for your classroom? All products are literacy-focused and target students at the elementary level (mostly grades 2-5, since that is the population I work with!). Most of the products can be adapted to meet the needs of early primary and middle school (even high school!) and I would be happy to tweak products to fit the population you work with !
