F.IF.6…Calculate and interpret the average rate of change of a function (presented symbolically or as a table) over a specified interval. Estimate the rate of change from a graph.
Save paper and time by copying and laminating on cardstock. I use this as a math center in my classroom. I have 3 copies of each (group students into 3) or you can make a classroom set. Have your students use the graph/slope board and the table/rate of change board to set up their matching games. Match each graph card (pg. 5) with the corresponding slope card (pg. 6). Have students match each numerical table (pg. 4) with the corresponding rate of change card (pg. 7). They also need to place the units strip for the tables/rate of change board. This activity is a great way to check your students’ understanding for rate of change and slope.
