Use this Ready-to-Go writing trait bulletin board set (in full color) to support the lessons you are already teaching in your 6+1 Writing Traits curriculum. Create the bulletin board by using the 6 traits as headings on a bulletin board and the provided strategy cards that go underneath each heading. To help students learn ways to master each trait, teach them several strategies to go along with each trait and then place that trait under the correct writing heading for students to reference. There are a total of 47 strategy cards that can be used. Use them all, or only the ones that you touch on.

For example, one of the strategies to help students come up with ideas is to have them look at a book of pictures to help trigger ideas. This is called "Picture Inspiration." Once you have taught the strategy, place the strategy card under the IDEAS heading.

Included in this purchase is a student reference sheet with all the writing trait strategies. This reference sheet can be handed out to students to keep in their writing folders. There is also teacher's guide to the strategies that are not self-explanatory. Use the bulletin board and strategy cards all year as you teach each strategy!
