Colorado History is a literacy-based lesson aligned with the Common Core Standards.
This 32-page lesson teaches about the state's first people, famous explorers and Native American leaders, early government, important battles and wars in Colorado, and the journey to statehood.
After reading about Colorado, students will:
•answer Reading Comprehension questions
•complete a Language Skills activity
•use number coordinates to plot points of interest on a Colorado map
•use picture cues to create a time line of Colorado's history
•create a time line of his or her own life
•follow written directions to make a model of a Pueblo dwelling and village
•take a Vocabulary Quiz
