This fall-themed board game comes with 50 fluency phrase cards. They focus on the pre-primer, primer, and first Dolch sight word lists. Students can use this game to develop fluency while having fun! The set includes a directions page, 5 pages of phrases as well as one editable page, 2 writing response/recording sheets (one in color and one in black and white), printable game pieces, and a 2-page game board.
I find games like this particularly useful with reluctant and/or struggling readers. Almost every child enjoys playing a game and the short bursts of reading are just enough to allow for practice without being overwhelming.
This game addresses the following Common Core Standards for kindergarten and first grade:
RF.K.3c Read common high-frequency words by sight (e.g., the, of, to, you, she, my, is, are, do, does).
