A culminating activity to do after completing novels in literature circles and small groups! It can be adapted to use with whole class novels or independent novels!! A minor adjustment in directions would be all that is needed.
Grading Criteria/Rubric IS Included!
Students pick a creative project choice from a list of 5 options and they also choose a writing component of choice from a list of 5 options. Both lists are included.
All creative and writing components are put together to create a promotional publication for the novel. Each group/student presents the completed product in the form of an oral presentation.
The publications essentially advertise the novels, which expose and SELL the novels to other groups/students!
On top of that, it's a fun way for the kids to be assessed and learn about novels they may have thought they were not interested in reading!
Involves oral communication skills, writing components, applying knowledge of persuasive techniques, creativity, and imagination. This resource exposes students to a variety of ways to present/promote a book---actually pretending to put together a publication on a small scale...
Student comprehension of the novel is proven through project completion/presentation!
This assignment allows for easy assessing for individual students and as a group assessment!
