In my classroom, I use a daily reflection journal. Every day the students have to write at least one thing they learned in their reflection journal. It can be about math, science, a cool fact they learned, etc. They take them home every night for their parents to read and sign. With all the new standards, I thought it would be nice for the students to have a journal for reading, math, and science. I plan to have a 3 ring binder for each subject. When the lesson is over, I will allow 5 minutes for the kids to write their reflections. At the end of the week, I plan to have the students fill out the summative reflection page where they get to write their favorite reflection from science, reading, and math that week. This will go home at the end of the week for their parents to see. I’ve noticed that the reflection journals really get the kids thinking about what they’re learning.
The first two pages in this product are for the weekly, summative reflections. I’ve created covers for the math, science, and reading if you choose to them separately. If you have any questions about any of these pages don’t hesitate to ask!! Thank you!!
