This pack includes the following reader theater scripts for integrating math content into reading. Content Vocabulary integrated: Angles: Acute, Right, and Obtuse, Lines: Perpendicular, Parallel, Intersecting, Symmetry, Reflection
Goldilocks and the Three Angles: Goldilocks spends the day investigating the home of the Three Angles, until she learns that acute is too small, right is just right, and obtuse is too big for her square angle investigator. 3 pgs.
Parallela and her Wicked Stepsisters: Parallela wants to go to the ball, but her wicked stepsisters, Perpendicular and Intersecting won't let her. Finally, she is able to go thanks to her Fairy Reflector and dances with Prince Symmetry. 4 pgs.
They are most useful to reinforce concepts previously or currently being learned.
Preteach the vocabulary necessary for students to understand the content of the script.
Students can be paired to read the pars or the class may be divided into two groups.
Each student needs a copy of the script. These can also be put on file folders and laminated to make a class set for reuse.
Assign parts: this could be done based on ability: longer parts to more able readers, or randomly, depending on your group of students.
A variety of teaching documents and tools designed to make your teaching life better! Center and station activities, reader's theater scripts, classroom posters, file folder games, and other printables are available for any content area. Teaching tools are designed primarily for second, third, and fourth grade, although many documents (especially the math and reading activities) would be useful in first grade too. My students love using these colorful and engaging materials!
