So, where in the world are we? Even in this world of GPS, students still need to learn how to read maps and in particular, how to use an atlas. This packet includes an introduction to an atlas, exploring an atlas, answering questions, and creating a fact card about a place chosen by the student from the atlas. Also included are interactive websites to explore for more practice reading a map and/or atlas.

I am using this with my second graders for a reference unit/map review, but you can use this as a refresher or introduction for any grade level!
