One of the goals I have for my students is for them to work independently, making good use of their time. Isn't this true for all of us? I developed this "Things to Do" list to help my students track their progress on weekly assignments during our literacy work station time. The document consists of a tracking sheet checklist that each child completes on a weekly basis, as well as a list of activities that students can choose from when they finish their assigned activities. In addition, there are a few suggested activities sheets for some of my literacy tubs (letter tiles, letter cubes, letter stamps, and word tiles). All of these documents can easily be modified to fit the needs of your students. My students each have their own work station folder and notebook that they use to keep themselves organized. These handy organizers help to keep them focused on the job at hand, rather than trying to figure out what's next.
