I mount these circular spinners to tag board or run them on tag board. I bought plastic spinners at a teacher store in the game pieces section, and attached them to the tagboard. The spinners come in 2 pieces and just snap together. They actually work very well and spin easily.
I put a different spinner out every month or so, as the children learn new word families. They love to spin spinners and love to make lots of new words at the word work station at Daily 5.
These spinners are made to go with the Rigby Reading series, however, they can be used with any reading series or none at all.
I absolutely love teaching...I also LOVE creating items to use with my little kiddos so I can keep learning FUN! All of the items I sell on Teacher's Notebook are items I have used in my own classrooms. Because I've taught K-3, I have a wide range of materials to offer. I have been teaching for 25 years. I am lucky to be able to teach with my best friend, as well...the only thing that would make it better, is if our principal would let us knock out one of the walls! She is also the one who encouraged me to sell the items I use in my classroom. My Teaching Style I am a very hands on and creative teacher who hates to have paper everywhere! I guess that is why I keep working to make items that can be used year after year. I teach with the Daily 5 & CAFE method and do lots of writing with my kiddos. We really like to talk, draw, and write... The kids LOVE to hear stories about my life...they especially like to hear about the dirt hill! I also teach 3rd grade math to our 2nd graders...these kids never cease to amaze me!
