Sight Word Money is a resource that can be used for an entire school year. It is geared toward 1st grade students but could be used in kindergarten or second grade depending on the level of the students. Object of the activities. Students will use the sight words they are working on in class to add money. Each letter of the sight word has a corresponding coin assigned to it. Students will use the chart to find out the coin that matches each letter of the sight word. Students will draw the coins on the activity sheet and then add the money accordingly. Students may also use coins to help them count. This activity can be used whole group, small group, or as a center.
Activities included in this resource:
-A list of sight words for the entire school year (first grade). 7 new words are introduced each week.
-3 alphabet charts. Each letter of the alphabet is assigned a coin value. There is a chart for nickels and pennies. There is a chart for dimes, nickels, and pennies. There is a chart for quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies.
-28 weeks of sight words listed. Weeks 1-10 count with nickels and pennies. Weeks 11-20 count with dimes, nickels, and pennies. Weeks 21-28 count with quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies.
-3 blank charts are also included so that you can write in your own words.
