BUZZ OFF!

Your students will love this game! BUZZ OFF is an engaging game that reinforces words with double consonants, including words that end in -le. BUZZ OFF includes 48 words-24 one syllable words and 24 two syllable words.

BUZZ OFF can be used in small groups or independently. It needs no teacher guidance to play! If you are unfamiliar with this game, the instructions for play are listed below and included in this packet.  

Directions for play:

1. Teachers print, laminate, and cut out the word cards.
2. Teachers place the word cards in a sturdy container. I don’t recommend paper bags for this unless your students are extremely gentle.
3. Students take turns drawing a word from the container.  If the first child can read the word, he keeps it. If he cannot read the word, he gets help from a friend or puts the word back. That up to you. If a child draws “BUZZ OFF!”  he puts all his cards back. Then play goes to the next player.
4. There is never a winner to this game because students will continue to draw the “BUZZ OFF” card.
