Product Description

This pack is filled with math activities that would be perfect for a Western/Cowboy Theme. What’s Included:
• Number/Counting Cards to 20. There are several options to use with these cards. Play a memory type game by matching the number to 10 frame and/or tally marks. For younger students run two sets of the same cards and strictly match. Match number to 10 frame and/or tally marks, if correct?student gets to keep the card, if wrong he/she puts the card back in the pile. If a student gets the “lassoed” card return all the cards to the pile. ?The person with the most cards at the end of the game is the winner. Use with a pocket chart and put the “lassoed” cards behind the cards. Students pick a card and say the number or count how many. When a student picks a card with a lassoed card behind it, have the student or class stand up and pretend to lasso a rope and yell “yee haw”. Recording sheets are available for use, if desired.
• Cowboy Counting Cards: Students count how many objects then use a clothespin to clip the number that matches. Use a dry erase marker if clothespins are not an option. A student-recording sheet is also available.
• Number Sequencing Cards: Students figure out what number is missing in a sequence of numbers to place the missing number card or write the answer with a dry erase marker. A student-recording sheet is also provided.
• ‘Howdy Partner’ Patterning: Students practice AB, AAB, and/or ABC patterning skills with the cards provided then can use the student-recording sheets to practice the skill individually.
• I have/Who has Number Recognition Game: A whole group game that focuses on number recognition from 0 to 10. Any card can start which will be the last card played. I usually begin with the first card, so I know when it gets back to me the game is over.
