Product Description

This purchase is for a bundle package to accompany the TV series Forensic FilesAll episodes can be watched for free on YouTube which makes this set ideal for high school homework/extra credit or in-class viewing in science or forensic classes.

FORENSIC FILES - BUNDLE 1 (10 VIDEO WORKSHEETS)

Included are 10 worksheets for episodes of the television program Forensic Files.  All of the episodes are available to view online for free (YouTube).  This makes this program great for in-class, computer lab, or homework assignments since most students will have access to the programs through a variety of means.

The questions sheets go in order through each episode with a focus on the science behind each case as well as the legal circumstances.  I try to provide a variety of episodes to give students a wide range of ideas on how the career of a forensic scientist works.  The episodes I have chosen are perfect for high school age and I do try to avoid certain adult aspects which I do not feel are appropriate for students.  So rest assured that each episode is perfect for ages 14-18.

The episodes included in this bundle package (with their season and episode number) are:

Burning Ambition (S5 – e5)
A 14-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting how police and forensic scientists in Seattle determined that a police officer's burning home was self-created arson and then other methods were needed to prove that the officer was in fact a murderer.

Cats, Flies, & Snapshots (S6 – e27)
A 16-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting how police and forensic scientists caught a killer by using three pieces of evidence (cat hairs, blow flies, and surveillance pictures).

Deadly Delivery (S3 – e5)
A 13-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting how police and forensic scientists in Alabama identified a killer who was mailing forensic-free bombs to federal judges.

Death Play (S6 – e5)
A 14-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting how police and forensic scientists in Texas needed witness testimony and science to catch a girl who successfully poisoned her father.

Hand Delivered (S6 – e4)
A 15-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting how police and forensic scientists in California caught a killer when the sole piece of evidence were two unidentified hands. This is a great episode to demonstrate how forensic scientists use luminol to spot blood and other evidence at a crime scene.

Horseplay (S6 – e13)
A 13-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting how police and forensic scientists in Michigan tracked and caught a killer thanks to exhuming his dead wife's body for evidence.

Magic Bullet (S1 – e2)
A 12-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting how police and forensic scientists in Texas used ballistics and computer animation to solve the case of a teenager who was mysteriously shot at a gun range.

Muddy Waters (S9 – e20)
A 12-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting how police and forensic scientists in Colorado used mud and metal to determine if a hunter's death was an accident or murder.

Murder on the Menu (S10 – e36)
A 12-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting how police and forensic scientists in Pennsylvania used ballistics and witness testimony to catch the killer of a restaurant owner.

Partners in Crime (S7 – e15)
A 14-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting how police and forensic scientists in Illinois determined that a house fire was set to cover up a crime and then had to use evidence to discover if there had been one killer or two.

A power point is also provided with 10 additional writing prompt questions (one per episode) that go beyond those provided on the worksheet which is ideal for student reflection and classroom discussion.

I hope you and your students find this purchase useful and it gives them great insight into the important field of forensic science.  Thank you for your purchase and for taking the time to leave me positive feedback.
