This is a 10 card activity which requires students to view 10 image and information cards on specific effects of the Industrial Revolution. This entire activity is in Ppt format, allowing the teacher greater versatility in use and with printing or presentation. In one option, students travel around the room to view each placard. They will take the data down onto a provided handout and will follow prompts to analyze the information and apply it to modern times. The activity is followed by a quick content review with wrap-up questions, and an essay assignment asking students to make a comparison to modern issues. Teacher directions are provided in the notes sections.
This lesson is designed for use in a World History, European History, or U.S. History class on the topic of the Effects of the Industrial Revolution. Topics covered include: Education, Child Labor, Roles of Women, Urbanization, Tenements, Immigration, Labor Conditions, Social Ills, Political Changes, and Environmental Conditions. This is also part of a 6-day unit available in my store.
Welcome to A Lesson Plan for Teachers!
This store is set up to provide buyers with quality Social Studies and Language Arts resources as well as great tools for the new teacher and for classroom organization.
With 12 years of teaching experience in grades 6-12, I have worked with all levels of students from AP courses to Collaborative classes, and I have been a mentor to a number or new and student teachers. In addition, I published my book, A Lesson Plan for Teachers, outlining key topics that are often discussed by new teachers as the pitfalls of the discipline.
Follow my blog, www.alessonplanforteachers.blogspot.com for updates and discussion on those key topics along with specials and freebies!
