Product Description

These non-fiction questioning chips are a wonderful way to get students to discuss and talk about non-fiction texts. They work well with popular cooperative learning structures. There are a total of 10 different chips that have questioning stems that prompt students to interact within small group settings and focus on important features of non-fiction texts. This digital file is setup to print 3 separate sets of chips. The chips can be printed and laminated to use as is, or can be attached to plastic chips for durability {instructions included}. Please check out the other questioning chips that I have available...and there will be more coming soon!

What other teachers are saying...

I was given the opportunity to evaluate the non-fiction questioning chips. I am overwhelmed with the possibilities for uses with these chips. There are several questions that cover a wide range of thinking skills. The chips can be used with several subjects in the classroom. I plan on using these with groups as well as individual uses incorporating it into my Daily 5 Work on Writing activities. Great activity! Can't wait to use it!!

I was given the opportunity to evaluate the non-fiction chips and I was really impressed! What a fun way to get the children engaged in responding to the text or article. There will be no complaining from the children! As a writing teacher, this activity is great for integrating reading and writing. I give it an A+!

I had a chance to evaluate the non-fiction chips as well. I teach second grade and think that these would be great to use with literature circles when they are just starting to become more independent but still need some guidance with asking each other questions.
I am also thinking of using them as independent response to reading. Thanks Audrey!
