I use this packet for a chocolate-themed book club study in my third grade classroom. It could also be used in a fantasy-themed unit.
During this two-week unit, students read Chocolate Fever by Smith. In our room, we alternate days spent reading and discussing. This means half of my students are reading (independently or with buddies) while the other half are discussing and extending the book.
This packet includes:
Daily timeline for teacher reference
4 pages of questions, grouped by 3 chapters each
Five extension activities
Print and go!
I am a proud 2004 graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. I majored in elementary education and minored in counseling psychology. Since then, I've completed my master's degree and earned my All-Grades Reading Specialist License. I have taught third grade in Indiana for eight fabulous years. Reading and writing are my favorite subjects, but I love creating hands-on math lessons too. I strive to inspire my students to become critical thinkers and lifelong learners. Teaching is so much fun!
These materials make my life easier, so I hope they work for you too! If you have any questions or want further explanation of a particular product, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm happy to answer any questions and provide insight into your literacy program.
