This presentation is designed to aid students in their overall understanding of idioms. The following idioms are illustrated both literally and idiomatically on
15 colorful slides:
It’s raining cats and dogs.
Shake a leg.
I’m all ears.
It’s like finding a needle in a haystack.
It’s time to face the music.
It’s written all over your face.
This presentation is very versatile. It may be used alone, in tandem with one of my other idiom resources also available, or to accompany literature which focuses on or contains idioms. I personally love reading Amelia Bedelia books to my students when I introduce idioms in my room. I hope you find this presentation beneficial in increasing the understanding of your students and the rigor of your instruction. Hi! I am currently a teacher of gifted and talented students at a wonderful elementary school here in the Peach State! I absolutely love teaching, and I have found that my current position has pushed me to be more creative in differentiated curriculum development than ever before. I strive to offer meaningful enrichment resources to teachers for elementary students of all backgrounds and ages!
I also hold degrees in Early Childhood and Special Ed, as well as have both my reading and gifted endorsements. For these reasons, you will find a diverse mix of resources in my store.
Because we love to stay busy and use our gifts in service to others, my husband and I work in children's and family ministry at our local church, so resources for homeschool families, those in children's ministry, and young parents are available as well. Thanks so much for stopping by!
