This is a fun lab activity I like to use with my students to get them up and moving around while they are still collecting data AND finding the mean, median, mode, and range of those data sets. You place at least 5 different food boxes (cans, etc.) around the room. Students rotate around the room and read the nutrition labels of those foods. They record the grams of sugars, fats, and proteins of 5 foods. When they have collected the 5 foods, they go back to their desk and organize the data to find the central measures of tendency and range. I like to include a food item such as water or diet soda that has ZERO as one of the grams, that way students have to think about whether or not you should use the zero in the data set.If you ever find an error, please contact me before rating and I will gladly and quickly fix it and resend the product to you.

I am a middle school English and math teacher of seven years. I have taught grades 4, and 6-8 in both Michigan and Arizona. The units in my store are extensive because I use them in my own classes. I keep my prices low because I know as a teacher both time and money are tough to find. If you ever find an error, please contact me before rating and I will gladly and quickly fix it and resend the product to you.
