I Dig U!

I Dig U Playing Cards are teacher made playing cards designed with a cute little doggy and dog bone for pics. There are no clubs, diamonds, hearts or spades in this deck of cards. Though, it has beautiful graphics and colors, it's useful for students and easy to manipulate. There are many ways you can use playing cards in your math centers, daily math activities, or math workshop. I have included a couple of my own ideas along with 2 games. I hope you will find these cards useful and adorable. I believe your students will be excited to play with these cards. A couple of skills that your students will be able to practice on are: adding, doubling, recording number sentences, number families, memorization and more...

This is a custom written literature unit to be used with Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo.

This unit is designed to be used with some student/instructor interaction. It can also be revised as an independent study for the student. It is written as a 14-day unit but can be slowed down or sped up as needed for the individual student. It is written for the 5-8th grade reading level.

Â

It would work great in a one-on-one setting for home school or for a teacher to use as a resource in the classroom for a small group or entire class. The unit is designed so that you can start teaching immediately with little to no preparation on your part. Great time saver!

This unit contains:

  • Teacher Packet containing detailed daily lesson plans, an answer key, and suggested curriculum connection activities.
  • Student Packet containing vocabulary activities, comprehension questions, and extension activities that correlates with the book.
  • An after the book activity packet.

I wrote and developed this unit myself. I am a certified teacher in Nebraska. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Iowa State University and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. In addition to my Masters I have taken graduate courses on teaching of the Gifted and Talented. I have successfully used these activities in the classroom setting many times

This packet includes everything you need to post the CC standards you are teaching in your classroom. The packet includes 2 different color schemes to choose from for your posters and includes math, LA, Science, and SS Common Core Standards for 2nd grade. The standards are worded in "We can..." language with active verbs so that the students can verbalize the standards that they are working on. Simply print, laminate, cut out and add velcro so that you can easily switch them out. Adorable clip art and color make these visually appealing. This product was made in collaboration with the fab Deanna Jump and with her permission!
