Kids remember the sound of the letter P and that parrot begins with P when they use the Alphabet Art patterns to turn the P into a parrot. The book includes the 26 upper case letters of the alphabet and the patterns for the pieces that turn the letter into a character with that beginning sound. Both long and short vowel characters are part of this book. Instructions include using the patterns to teach letter and sound association, letter and sound differentiation, sequential order and making words. Make a set for yourself to use as an anchor alphabet. Free samples are available on this site and at www.wendysbookworks.com. More activities using the letters and characters are shown in a video on the Wendy's Bookworks you Tube channel.
I had a few of these letters but not the full set and my students picked up on the letter sounds much faster! The students have also love to make these letters to bring home and share with there families!
