CELL-ebrate as your students study the topic of cells in an exciting yet integrated fashion. We study the differences between one-celled and multi-celled organisms. Characteristics and functions of cells are studied, as well as an investigation of tissues, organs, organ systems, and diffusion and osmosis. Student assignments include an amoeba-labelling exercise, cell reproduction, plant and animal cells, and a study of the bizarre nature of cancer cells. The use of the microscope is an important part of this unit, and information on the proper use of this instrument is provided.
