Marugoto is a coursebook for adult learners of Japanese that is based on the JF Standard for Japanese Language-Education. Learners at Pre-Intermediate level (A2/B1) can express themselves concerning a range of matters directly related to their backgrounds and daily lives. They can also discuss their personal interests, giving simple opinions and the reasons behind them. This book series is based on the philosophy of "Japanese for mutual understanding." Each topic features situations in which people from a variety of cultural backgrounds are interacting in Japanese. The objective of Pre-Intermediate is to prepare learners for the next level through review and application of language learned in Starter (A1) through Elementary 2 (A2). By combining the study methods of Katsudoo and Rikai into a single volume, the design of this book takes a double-sided approach to language study that incorporates both knowledge and usage.
