When Tirra, the Holy Seer of Danea, runs away from her temple in the middle of the night, she forces Kol, her guard, to go with her. She's had a vision that if she can reach Milliandrum, a city hundreds of miles away, she'll be free of her power, free from the temple and free from the hated High Priestess Seranna. But Seranna offers a reward for her return and sends Maras the Tracker after her, an unshakeable pursuer with powers of his own.
