They were solid sandstone apartment buildings with four stories and a staircase in the middle. #4 I was born in 1942, during World War Two. I was sickly and always sniffling. I had pneumonia three times before I turned four. But I felt jolly when Florence was next to me. We slept together in the alcove bed in the kitchen, and she taught me songs.
