Some believe that AGI will surpass human intelligence within a relatively short time, and will function as a god. #3 The future implications of work on artificial intelligence are not limited to scientists. They affect everyone, and it is important that philosophers, ethicists, theologians, cultural commentators, and artists get involved in the debate. #4 The term AI was coined in a summer school held at the mathematics department of Dartmouth University in 1956. It is used to describe the intelligent machines that are the goal, as well as the science and technology that are aiming at that goal.
